Open *.json and *.geojson files as a tree you can click through, or flip to the raw document when you would rather type. Formatting, undo and redo, and a save that writes the file in your workspace instead of an export.
Illustration, not a screenshot — plain markup standing in for the editor’s tree.
What it does
File tree
Every key becomes a row you can expand, collapse and edit.
Raw JSON
Flip to the source to paste or hand-edit, then back to the tree.
Format
Re-indent the whole document in one step before saving.
Undo & redo
Step back and forward through edits while the file stays open.
Save
Write back to the same file in your workspace — no export.
Permissions
Local workspace files — read and write.
Opens, edits and saves the JSON files in the workspace you enable it in; the files stay on your machine.
Storage.
Keeps the extension’s own editor state.
Notifications.
Used for the extension’s own editor messages.
You confirm these when installing, and the extension also has to be enabled in the workspace you want to use it in.
Compatibility and updates
The built-in editor stays.
Visorn already ships a JSON editor; installing this package does not remove it. This 0.1.0 release is the same baseline that is bundled.
Store updates and reinstalls need a Visorn build that can manage preinstalled extensions.
Older builds may reject another package with the same ID — the bundled editor keeps working there.
Updates only go forward.
A new version installs only when it is higher than the one you already have; the same version is not installed over itself.
Before uninstalling or updating,
save and close the JSON documents open in that workspace.
Installation
Extensions install from Settings → Extensions in Visorn — from the store, or from a downloaded .vsx file. The step-by-step version lives in the wiki for now (temporary wiki).
